Andrew House: PS4 early adopters not interested in camera interaction

Interesting take on why Sony offers a camera-less bundle.

Speaking to Business Spectator, SCE CEO and president Andrew House discussed why Sony decided to leave the PS4 Camera out of day one bundles, unlike its competitor.

“Certainly for the earlier part of the lifecycle, the vast majority of the audience that we speak to tells us that their primary wish is for the full controller interface and there’s not necessarily a huge emphasis being placed on camera interaction.”

He later added Sony is prepared to “adjust messaging” if camera controls are what the audience wants, later down the road.

So, if you’re buying a PS4, are you getting the Camera bundle or a camera-less one?

Thank you, CVG!

The one with 2 controlers, camera and Killzone. Also Watchdogs, Fifa 14 and Battlefield 4. I can’t wait…

I agree with Sony. I can care less about the camera. I think the only time i used it with my PS3 over these many years, is when i took my drivers license photo for Burnout Paradise. Don’t care about motion gaming either. I’ve been over that fad for a while now.
