EA’s Gamescom conference is now over, and we’re rounding up the news for you.
Battlefield 4
DICE revealed the remaining 2 expansion packs for Battlefield 4. After China Rising and Second Assault will land Naval Strike, Dragon’s Teeth and Final Stand.
China Rising will release in December, Naval Strike hits in spring 2014, with Dragon’s Teeth and Final Stand lands in summer 2014. Premium members will get access to each two weeks prior to their release.
Obliteration, a new mode announced during the conference, is a one-bomb objective mode where both teams hunt an explosive that respawns in random locations.
Lastly, the Battlefield 4 beta will land in October. Medal of Honor: Warfighter owners will have guaranteed access to the closed phase.
FIFA 14
In addition to announcing that FIFA 14 will be free with all European Xbox One pre-orders, EA announced that FIFA 14 is also going free-to-play on mobile devices.
A demo will be available on September 10 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
FIFA 14 will also allow Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 players to bring their Ultimate Teams and other content to Xbox One and Playstation 4 respectively, similar to Battlefield 4 and more cross-gen games.
UFC 2014
Pre-alpha footage shown during the conference focused specifically on the game’s impressive full-body deformation and player exertion systems. The full-body deformation system deforms the fighters’ bodies realistically when they collide, creating a very realistic visual experience.
Player exertion shows each fighters’ face react realistically to the hit when being struck, submitting or being submitted to a grapple hold, among more actions.
Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare
Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare on Xbox One and SmartGlass will receive a Boss Mode as an exclusive feature. Using a tablet will allow you to switch to an overhead angle and act as a field general against other players who play the game in a third-person view.
Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare is sprouting in Spring 2014 on Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
In addition, EA and PopCap have announced an update for Plants vs. Zombies 2 called Far Future. No release window has been given for it. EA also said that 15 million hours have been logged into the mobile game.
