A few weeks ago, it was revealed on the Playstation Blog that Gran Turismo 5 would get an Academy Edition, which is about the “Gran Turismo Academy” competition. Now, we have more details.
If you purchase the Academy Edition and are in the top six of the GT Academy Challenge in January, there’s a chance you will be invited to the Silverstone race circuit in March, to participatae in a series of GT Academy-inspired challenges.
If you are the winner at Silverstone, you can pick a partner and go to an all-expenses paid trip to the 2013 Le Mans 24H race, which will take place in the 22nd and 23rd of June. Two GT Academy drivers, Lucas Ordonez and Jordan Tresson, were racing at Le Mans last years.
The game’s GT Academy Challenge will start on the 1st of January and will run for the whole month. The competition will be available in: Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic Of Ireland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK & UAE.
If you don’t live in one of the above countries, don’t fret. During the Paris Motor Show, which runs from September 29th to the14th of October, a special GT5AE challenge at the Nissan stand will offer everyone the opportunity to be present at Silverstone.
There’s also more goodies in the edition. A 25% discount voucher for the online Gran Turismo merchandise store GT Boutique will also be included, along with all the updates and DLC packages that have been released so far, all of which add 30 more vehicles and three courses, some paint packs and some racing gear.
