When news broke yesterday that Obsidian’s project under development by its North Carolina studio was cancelled, details were scarce. Now, though, we’re learning that the game was under development for the next Xbox, with Microsoft handling publishing.
Obsidian consequently let go of 30 employees after MS decided to stop funding it, and one source close to the situation who spoke to Kotaku said that the firm’s CEO Feargus Urquhart, who’s usually a loud-mouth, choked up while addressing the company about the sad news.
We’re yet to know what this project was, and why it was cancelled.
