You Should Expect Dark Souls 2

Fans of Dark Souls should expect another game to be announced in due time, as From Software Research & Development boss Masanori Takeuchi has made known to Game Trailers that they’re not done with the franchise.

When asked by the site if From Software was through with Dark Souls, Takeuchi responded with passion: “Of course, it’s not over yet. We’ve always been enamored by dark fantasy action RPGs. That’s just been our core DNA and I think we’ll continue to utilize that,” he said.

Meanwhile, studio executive producer Eiichi Nakajima is hoping to appeal to a “global audience” with their next effort, but it wasn’t clear if said game would be Dark Souls or something new. He did say the key is to keep the core gamer happy, while adding elements that would appeal to a global crowd.

“We’ve always been about making games for the core gamer,” he said, “and they weren’t necessarily games that did well financially, which is too bad. The success of both Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls, which have each sold over a million [units] per title worldwide, has made us shift our thinking internally to not just core gamers, but to globalize our products, that they can be successful on a worldwide scale. That’s now one of the key pillars we consider when we develop games in the future.”

    can’t wait love me some dark souls

    dunno if it will be a sequel or another spiritual successor.
    whatever it is though i just hope they tweak the game a little.
    the games not hard because its difficult, its hard because its cheap!
    it remind me allot of ninja gaiden sigma, or even the more recent i am alive.
    i was so disappointed in that.
    a awesome concept, really well implemented, spoiled by impossible gameplay.
    i HATE it when games require you to do something then dont give you the resources to do so.
    thats dark souls, and i am alive to a tee!
    having a fork in the road, one leading to a easy path and one to a nigh on impossible path is the best example of poor lazy game design!
    if your going to do that then fine, but at least leave out some warnings letting players know what there getting themselves into.
    nothing pisses me off more then when games pluck you from your mother, and straight into WWII expecting you to defeat hitler!
    yea, something tells me thats being a tad unrealistic…….
    you need some preparation, some information about your surroundings.
    things both games never give you!

    my only problem with dark souls was the framerate issues

    another thing that gets really annoying in games is when games give you a choice but really dont give you any information on anything.
    for instance ME3 im up to a particular mission where if you select it it asks you are you sure you want to do this mission?
    thats all it says.
    why is it asking me?
    every other mission just starts, this clarifies with you so why?
    so now im scared to start it just in case i start a mission im not ready for and my whole team dies or something.
    if your going to ask someone a question at least give them all the information they need to answer it!
    its like saying you can press this button or that one.
    i cant answer that question unless you tell me what they do!
    otherwise the decision is not a decision, might as well pop a blindfold on me and play pin the tail on the donkey.
