PS Vita’s launch went very well in Japan, selling over 320,000 units in its first two days on the market. It’s not a shabby number by any means, but it’s also noteworthy to point out the 3DS’ numbers: 371,326 units sold in the first two days.
The sales data was reported by Famitsu, citing enterbrain, with the latter firm estimating that 1.4 million PS Vitas will be sold by week’s end.
It’s also important to point out that PSP, one of Japan’s best-selling consoles, only managed about 166,074 on the day it went on sale, and although second day figures are not available, it shows almost identical sales results between the two consoles. Sony should be hopeful.
