1.25 Million Gamers Have Pre-Ordered Battlefield 3

Battlefield 3 is one of the most anticipated games this year, and the preorder numbers are proof. Are you among the 1.25 million people who’ve preordered the DICE shooter?

EA CFO Eric Brown, speaking at the Citi 2011 Tech Conference yesterday, made known the stellar numbers of the first-person shooter, saying Battlefield 3′s already performing better that its predecessor, Bad Company 2.

“To date we have about 1.25 million preorders on Battlefield 3, so it’s still well ahead of its predecessor title, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, in regards to preorders in the same number of weeks till launch. So it’s doing very well.”

The Modern Warfare 3 competitor will see a launch late October for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

    Yeah, I hate messy launches! But I’m sure they are aware the game’s getting higher than anticipated buzz. I personally can’t wait for it. Closer to launch, we’ll have GT Clan plans and details.

    Every battlefield game has a messy launch. Battlefield 1943 had the worst. They expected a couple 100,000 sales but they got 1,000,000.

    I don’t know yet. I will try PS3 and Xbox in the beta. I wish PC was an option.

    I just bought it on xbox I am afraid. I am pretty much only getting it for the online play so I thought Xbox made more sense.
