Sony’s been upping its talk recently, especially when conversing about PS3 and its closest competitor, Microsoft’s Xbox 360. If you’re on the internet often, then you know Microsoft’s sold more 360 hardware than Sony has PS3, but according to the firm’s SVP of publisher relations, Rob Dyer, though the Xbox 360 has a larger install base, the PS3 takes a disproportionately large bite of the game sales.
It was in a recent interview with Industry Gamers he made the interesting statement, he said: “If you have a choice between buying a PS3 version and an Xbox version of Mortal Kombat, which one are you buying? You’re buying the PS3 version because you can play as Kratos. Although Microsoft has a 1.6 to 1 index ratio against us [on hardware], we outsold them on Mortal Kombat nearly at a 1 to 1.”
So do PS3 gamers buy more games than the Xbox 360 crowd, ratio considered? Interesting piece of news. Share your thoughts.
