A report translated by Andriasang confirms Samsung’s involvement with PS Vita. The firm will manufacture the handheld’s central processing unit (CPU).
According to the site, the chip will be produced using a 45 nanometer process, same as those used in the slim models of both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Sony and Samsung, both electronic giants, have a strong working relationship, with a joint LCD manufacturing facility in Korea among other collaborations.
Sony’s yet to announce a proper release date for PS Vita, but as we draw closer to year’s end, evidences are pointing towards November/December in the west.
not surprising considering samsung have allot of licenses for allot of different types of tech.
peel back any TV you own chances are it has a samsung LCD panel in it.
vita may be coming out on october 28 too.
doubt it, considering manufacturing processes, distribution and such, not enough time.
not to mention the units there showing off are still prototypes, they apparently still have not come up with the final design for the unit yet.
