Respawn Entertainment Hires Another Hollywood Design Veteran, Truly Going Sci-Fi

Respawn Entertainment has hired yet another sci-fi design veteran to do work on their new title. His name is Matt Codd, the man behind Men In Black and 12 Monkeys art.

“As far as I’m concerned whether it’s video games or movies, good design isn’t all that matters. It’s all about trying to be original in this day and age which is really difficult because everything has been done at some point or another,” said Codd in an interview on Respawn’s website.

“The time that’s put aside to video games is far more interesting and more fascinating to look at. A lot of the guys that I know in movies, we see a lot of game design and think ‘that’s awesome and I wish we were doing that in movies.”

Amongst some of Codd’s favorite games, you’ll find the original Medal of Honor, Doom and Gears of War as among his favourite games, but said he’s had to give them up or spend all night playing.

If you check out Codd’s website, you’ll see some of the magnificent work he’s done, and that’s what Respawn’s shooting for: perfection and art that stands out. Things we haven’t seen before.

Looking good, I reckon!
