There’s a rather large boycott of Battlefield 3 happening now by fans of the game who say its latest DLC offering offers an unbalance to the game, giving those who pre-order the Physical Warfare pack a clear advantage over those who don’t. It’s gotten so big that DICE itself has decided to respond to the outrage with a FAQ posted on its blog.
According to DICE, the bonus content was “specifically chosen not to be overpowered or imbalance or break the game in any way”, and will provide variety but “not give you a significant advantage on the battlefield”.
“We believe in rewarding our core fanbase with special offers – such as giving them the Back to Karkand expansion pack at no extra charge,” DICE wrote of the Physical Warfare package.
The Physical Warfare pack includes the Back to Karkand expansion pack, which features a number of maps, and a collection of weaponry and equipment which varies from territory to territory.
The game’s out on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in October.

DICE has decided to add this weapon to the expansion pack. I’m excited…

Now if I can get some paperclips too??
what game does not give out unfair advantages via DLC?
i remember the hig edition for KZ3 came with a few unlock points so you would have more kit on the same level as everyone else, heaps of XP so you would level up faster, heaps of kit that would make for a unfair advantage.
tis why i dont play online, very rarely are the games ranked if i had a nickle for everytime i was the lowest ranked played in not my team, but in the whole match, id be rich enough to buy sony M$ and ninty twice fold!
hows a level 1 with no health upgrades or weapon upgrades suppose to compete with the level 10 guys who do?
I also think EA needs to shut up a bit. They keep bragging BF3 too much, while Acti remains mum.
no, they need to talk about THERE game!
im all for some friendly competition, but this is just ridiculous!
