SEGA Announces Official Video Game for The 2012 Olympic Games

In an official release today, SEGA has announced London 2012: The Official Video Game of The Olympic Games. The game is being published by SEGA and International Sports Media. London 2012 will make it possible for everyone to make Olympic history, and feel what it is like to participate in the most prestigious sporting in the world. The game will include over 30 events, and allow you to compete against people from all over the world through online leaderboards.

Senior Vice President of Marketing at SEGA Europe and SEGA of America, Gary Knight believes “the official video game will give people all over the world the chance to participate in the greatest sporting event on earth from their homes, even if they are thousands of miles away!”

“London 2012 looks set to be our best ever release in the Olympic Games simulation franchise in terms of both sales and number and quality of events,” said Raymond Goldsmith, the CEO of ISM. He also stated that “We are delighted to be working once again with SEGA to ensure we will achieve this historic milestone.”

The game is being developer by SEGA Studios Australia and will release in 2012.
