Video Thirst: Portal 2 Developer Commentary, The Singleplayer

Got some more of Portal 2′s developer commentaries, and this time they are from the singleplayer. It is great to play through the game normally with the addition of commentary, but sometimes you wanna skip the puzzles and just get straight to the commentary. This is especially so as you can’t save during the commentary mode, so unless you complete each chapter in one sitting, you could miss the last commentaries in each chapter. But don’t worry, I have recorded all of the commentaries for you, so all you have to do is sit comfy and press play.

I will be starting of the singleplayer commentaries, at the start, no surprises there then. The video bellow has all of the commentaries from chapter 1, Courtesy Call. If you are yet to play portal 2 and are worried about spoilers, then this video should still be safe to watch. Although some parts of the video you may prefer to experience for yourself, it is all from the beginning of the game so is relatively spoiler free.

So then no excuses, sit back, relax and find out how on of the best puzzle games ever came to be.

did you know this game was originally designed with no portal gun?
valve had a few concept levels finished but there was no portal gun.
im glad they gave them the scrap and brang the portal gun back, i mean the portal gun is the best part of the series!
portal without the portal gun is like GOW without kratos.

WHAT?! They designed the game without a portal gun? How would that work? lol

Thats not like God Of War without Kratos, thats like a Tony Hawk’s game without a skateboard!

im glad they kept it, tis the best part of portal!
they also had a gel that made you stick to it so you could walk on walls and things.
but during play testing it made allot of people feel sick so they cut it.

If you listen to the team fortress 2 commentaries you hear about how Valve completely changed the game so many times. Was originally a serious modern warfare game, with one player being a commander and giving orders to others.

I can post them if anyone is interested.
