Rumor has it that Nintendo’s about to slash the price of its flagship console to $150 starting on May 15th.
Some are claiming the drop is coming because Nintendo’s prepping to introduce a new console at this year’s E3, something we think is highly possible. The Wii would also be the first console to see a second official price drop since it launched in 2006.
Adding fire to the story, GoNintendo’s also housing an image of an internal Kmart schedule that appears to back-up the story, listing the reduced-price Wii as “clearance stock”.
Interesting stuff. Keep your eyes glued to the E3 happenings, folks. Things might get rather wild.

though i cant see then announcing a new wii this year.
i think a price drop will be enough to sucker more soccer moms into buying it, thus generating enough revenue for this year.
next E3 id expect a new wii, this year i thinks a little too early, i think ninty can milk the cow just a little bit more.

plus they have taken a massive hit with the 3ds, so they will need time to recover and get up to line developing a new system.
i would not be surprised to see a new wii next year.
a new xbox too, depending on how there lineup goes this year and next.
if all they have from mid this to mid next is what they already have announced, then they need to announce a new console next year.
if they have some killer exclusives to combat sonys, then i think they can afford to wait a little longer.
sony on the other hand wont be doing anything for a while.
they spent a BOMB! on the ps3, on its R&D, and have not made much back from it so there not going to release a new system till they have milked the cow as mush as possible.
even if that means being last to the party again, so be it.
I hope they do it.
