Naughty Dog Wants UC3 To Be “Go To Game For PS3 Multiplayer”, Admits UC2′s MP Could Have Been Better

Uncharted 2′s multiplayer was enjoyed by millions of PS3 owners, but it still wasn’t the most popular. In fact, a multiplatform game has earned the crown from PS3 and Xbox 360 owners alike, dominating the online time of gamers across the world. That game is Black Ops. Can Uncharted 3′s MP outperform the Activsion juggernaut? Naughty Dog wants it to.

The developer also admitted to making mistakes in Uncharted 2′s MP, concurring it could have been much better.

Red Dead Redemption and Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood have both influenced UC3′s multiplayer, Naughty Dog tells Gamepro magazine (via Uncharted Central) adding, “One thing we learned from UC2 MP was that damage/health should be “the same or similar to single player”.

Awesome news. The game releases on November 1st, 2011 exclusively for PS3.

    I was really disappointed with UC 2′s multiplayer. Was just a bit boring. Hopefully UC3 can add more to genre.

    I love Uc 2′s mulitplayer. I did not like it at first, but once I got use to it, I really loved it. It is a great first try for ND.

    uncharted 2 had the ps3s 2nd best MP mode, only 2nd to resistance 2.
    i really enjoyed it, especially the co-op maps which had you and 2 friends up against the AI and tanks that was so much fun!
    they better keep that, not like resistance 3!
    even the competitive treasure mode was allot of fun!
    come to think of it, uncharted 2s MP was allot more fun then R2s but R2s was better organized and balanced.

    health is one thing that i hate about MP games!
    there not a case of skill, or tactics its whoever sees the person first wins!
    thats what i hate about every MP game i have played, its just a looking contest whoever sees the enemy first wins!
    hows that fun?
    thats what put me off KZ3, someone shoots you once and your dead hows that fun?
    they need to add more health and armour to your character, and increase the recoil!
    if i had a penny for every time i saw a idiot in KZ3 hold down the trigger of a LMG and every single shot hit me id be a multi billionaire by now!
    thats one of the biggest complaints they were getting in the closed beta last year, shame to see they STILL have not fixed it!
    last time i checked a LMG is not a sniper riffle!

    I loved the mp…just never got into it that much….But I’m sure Naughty Dog will deliver on both fronts like they did the last time around…..Even better this time…

    so much fun teaming up with friends and beating the %$#@ out of the AI!

    For me UC3 needs to have a kickass single player mode if the multi player is playable and i spend maybe 20 hours i will be over the moon.

    but i love uncharted for its srong story and amazing voice acting not for it’s multi player i have CoD and KZ3 for that.

    i love it for both. I have put well over 50 hours into the mp and around 25 to 30 in the single player.
