Do you know what’s the number 1 sport in the world? Of course you do, right? It’s not American Football, nor is it Basketball, it’s Soccer.
Want proof? Fifa 11 has become the best selling sports game of all time.
In less than a week, the game has been able to move 2.6 million copies, generating over $150 million at retail. It launched on October 1st in the U.S. and Europe, and now it stands as the fastest selling sports game launch ever.
“We’re thrilled at how fans embraced FIFA 11 last weekend, and we are excited to be able to offer one of our most popular game modes – FIFA 11 Ultimate Team – for free this November,” Peter Moore, President of EA Sports said. “This is a landmark achievement for EA Sports – we’ve shattered sales records at retail, critics are praising FIFA 11 as being one of the most authentic and innovative titles ever, and fans are connecting and competing with other gamers around the world and have logged a record number of online connected game sessions.”
According to EA Sports, the popular mode within the game, Ultimate Team, will be provided for free this November for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, as a reward to the fans of the game.
Fifa 11 also boasts some impressive stats, with more than 18.6 million games playing online since release, and the momentum is exceeding expectations.

FIFA 11′s presentation is what makes it so much better than PES 11 IMO. I mean I tried both demos (and purchased in the past) and it’s not even close, honestly. Oh and, Ernice, it’s Football btw (lol, know).

I think this sold so well this year because of the World Cup. It was very popular this year. I am not a person who sits down and watches soccer when it comes on, but I watched every world cup game that I could, and I am watching soccer when it comes on now. I even kind of want this game, and I have not wanted a soccer game for years.
We should probably buy it.
