Confirmed: Enslaved Sold Less Than 500,000

Like I said in another article, Enslaved: Odyssey To The West sold less than half a million copies, and today Namco Bandai’s come out and confirmed it.

In its Q3 financial report, Namco revealed that Enslaved: Odyssey To The West sold 460,000 copies, although it was released on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Despite the poor sales, however, Namco hinted at Enslaved 2 to last week.

The publisher’s marketing director Lee Kirton said “It didnâ€™t perform as well as we hoped it would, but weâ€™re very proud of how it was received by both the media and the gamers who have experienced it.”

“I canâ€™t discuss where we are in terms of a sequel, but weâ€™re looking at reviews and feedback from the press and because of the gameplay and quality that Enslaved delivered, we see it as a great catalogue title going forward.”

key words there are “moving” and “forward”.

I played Enslaved and enjoyed it. Too bad it wasnt a PS3 exclusive. Probably would have sold more copies.

Yeah newyearnewrule…NT really acted like donkeys when talking about heavenly sword…well we can talk to them when they start wrking at the local McDs!!

further proof sales do not equate quality!
said it once, twice, and ill say it again.
we could get the best game ever made, but with a no name title and it would sell worse than a game of a cow taking a dump with halo or COD slapped onto it!

shame.
all the good games, that really need sequels fall to the wayside because they dont sell well enough, and games that are repetitive, boring or just plain crap get sequels out of the wazoo!
as much as i enjoyed enslaved, i wish NT would do a heavenly sword sequel!
heavenly sword is still one of the best games on ps3, and still to this date has one of the biggest battles!
the last level, where you have the sword you honestly cant see the ground i have never seen so many people in my life!
needed new pants when i saw that, i mean how the bloody hell did they get all those bodies on screen!?
for now its a amazing game, but for its time?
freaking unbelievable!!!!!

Heavenly Sword 2 would do well. I’d buy it.
