Most DLC released for games, are usually to enhance the game’s story. Not so with Enslaved: Odyssey To The West, according to the title’s developer, Ninja Theory, any and all incoming DLC will be “side story” stuff.
He said this while speaking to VG247 at Develop.
“It will be a side adventure. We want to be very clear that the story has a beginning, middle and end, so you don’t need to get the DLC to fill in the gaps,” Ninja Theory boss Tameem Antoniades told the site.
“It’s a totally separate side story, and totally separate from the main production of the game.”
Enslaved: Odyssey To The West will be released on the PS3 and Xbox 360, October 5th in the US and 8th in Europe.
As for releasing ongoing DLC for the title, Antoniades said, “We don’t have a plan as such yet, but if it does work – I don’t know much about the dynamics of the DLC business – but if it does work I will be keen to do more.”
And since the title is a fresh IP, a demo will be released, which makes him “keen” for people to “get a hands on”.
