Assassin’s Creed 2 was a huge success and it isn’t a big surprise that Ubisoft is already prepping up a sequel to the series. In an Investor Relations release, the French publisher promised a ‘new episode of Assassin’s Creed’ in a section titled ‘Initial Infomation on the 2010-2011 Line-up.”
They don’t reveal very much about the game’s details besides the fact that it won’t come as DLC but as a full game which basically means Assassin’s Creed 3 I would think. The game will also be the first of the series to feature online multiplayer which could be a pretty interesting feature if done right.
There is also mention of the possibility that the game will feature a female character and take place during the second world war. Well as long as it doesn’t turn into another Velvet Assassin then go ahead and sign me up.
The game is expected to hit stores in the next fiscal year, possibly early 2011 but don’t be surprised if it’s out before then considering Assassin’s Creed is basically now a “sure thing.”
