Insomniac Games Responds To Fans Calling For Ratchet And Clank HD Collections

With the spate of HD Remakes appearing on PS3 lately, fans of Ratchet And Clank want in on the revisions. They want to play their favorite PS2 Ratchet And Clank games in PS3 HD glory. And who could blame them? Sony’s doing an ICO collection, Sly Cooper’s already out there, God of War I & II – even the Metal Gear Solid franchise will be “remastered”.

Insomniac Games have fielded many a question concerning the aforesaid, and now they’ve given a response.

“Out of our hands, sorry. That is [Sony's] call,” the dev said via its Facebook page. “If you bug them enough maybe they will release a Collection ;) ”

Again: “That is Sony’s decision.”

One fan even asked whether PS2 Ratchet And Clank games would come to Xbox 360, getting a swift response from Insomniac:

“No. Ratchet & Clank are owned by Sony. They will never be on any console other than a Sony.”

    they have been saying that for donkeys years, how about you bug them?
    im sure they will listen to one of there most successful companies more then there fans.
    they wont be doing it, but i dont see why another studio cant.
    dont care who does it, but a R&C 1,2,3,gladiator and both R&C PSP games remastered for the ps3 would be freaking sweet!
    but if your going to do it, dont just chuck it on a emulator and throw it out, do it properly!
    one thing that really disappointed me with the GOW colection and i hope they change with the GOW origins collection is the graphics.
    there spending all that time to redo the game, why not do it properly?
    was so disappointed by it, they honestly look no better then running the ps2 games on a BC ps3.
    whats the point of that?
    if your going to do it, do it properly, completley redo the cut scenes, and shine over the graphics.
    not asking for ACIT graphics, but if your going to do a ps3 game it should at least look like a ps3 game!

    never played a J&D game.
    neither sly until the collection came out.
    yea, yea, i know, how can you own a ps2 and not play them?
    i dunno, just was never attracted to them.
