Sony Sells Square-Enix Shares It Owned, Says Goodbye To A Long-Lasting Relationship

I had no idea that Sony owned shares in Square-Enix — worth 4.8 billion Yen, but that’s exactly what we found out today when the company announced that it would sell all of what it owned in the games publisher. And who can blame them? The relationship, in recent times, hasn’t bore fruit anyway, with most of Square-Enix games being multiplatform, there’s no benefit to Sony. And I suspect that’s the line of thinking the execs at Sony held when they decided to sell it all. In USD, that translates to about $47 million.
