Sony confirms 8-player party chat for PS4

Sony confirms 8-player party chat for PS4

Available for all, PS+ or not.

As we found out through the PlayStation Blog, PlayStation 4 will support up to 8 players in its party chat, and will not limit it to PlayStation Plus subscribers.Sony’s Social Media Manager Sid Shuman spread the news that the PS4′s Party Voice Chat feature will hold up to 8 players — the same number a PS Vita system can support now. It’s also full cross-game, meaning that even if every one of the eight people are in a different game, they can still chat together.

During a Killzone: Shadow Fall Q&A meant to give fans a better view of the game, and an open forum to discuss, people were constantly asking PS4 questions in general, too.

Killzone: Shadow Fall will have its own in-game chat function, so Party Chat doesn’t really concern it, but a slew of multiplayer titles are expected to hit PlayStation 4 (exclusive or not), so it’s understandable that Party Chat is a big feature.

Do you think 8 people are not many? Will you use the feature?
