High-profile titles eligible.
As Sony made known back in August, during Gamescom, upgrading your PlayStation 3 titles to PlayStation 4 digital versions for a low price will be a supported feature at launch.
Come November 29th (or 15th, if you’re in the United States), your PlayStation 3 versions of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Watch_Dogs, NBA 2K14 and Battlefield 4 will be able to be upgraded to PlayStation 4 digital versions for £9.99/€9.99/$9.99 (NBA 2K14 will be £11.99/€14.99/$14.99).
If you buy the game in retail, the game cases will have a code packed in, redeemable on the PlayStation 4′s PlayStation Store. Inserting your PlayStation 3 disc into your PlayStation 4 will be needed, so don’t think of trading it in as soon as you grab your PlayStation 4. The code can be redeemed the day you buy the game, and will be saved for downloading when your PlayStation 4 arrives.
For digital adopters, it’s as simple as getting on the PlayStation Store through your PlayStation 4 and finding the games, available for the prices mentioned above.
The program will last until January 31st, 2014 for Assassin’s Creed IV and Watch_Dogs, 28th March for Battlefield 4, and 31st March for NBA 2K14 and Call of Duty: Ghosts.
