Games Thirst – Amazing Life
The Wii U is struggling pretty bad, and it’s looking more and more like the console will go the way of the Sega Dreamcast – or even early abandonment like the original Xbox. So how will Nintendo fix the problem? Well, according to company boss Satoru Iwata, the console’s price isn’t the issue, a lack of games is.
“If the price is actually an issue [with Wii U], then there is some contradiction between the current sales balance between the Basic and Premium versions of the Wii U,” Iwata told CVG.
“The basic version should have sold a lot, but the fact of the matter is that people are buying more of the premium version. So the issue is not there.”
Iwata when on to suggest that the console was missing software, and if they could ramp that up, things would change.
He does have a point on the pricing, but could the Wii U really be saved if it received more third-party support, or is the console’s identity flawed?
