PlayStation’s DualShock hasn’t historically been known as the preferred controller for shooters, but that perception will change with the PS4′s version according to Mark Cerny, as this time it was built with the FPS fan in mind.
That’s what the console’s chief architect told Stuff in a recent interview, adding that a lot of testing had been done to get it to where it is now, and that he hadn’t heard any complains.
“We tested the throw of the triggers, the position of the triggers, how much pressure it takes. We looked at the joysticks, the dead spot, we looked at convexity and concavity. I haven’t heard a negative comment about it yet. For a controller with a very different form factor that was just amazing to see,” Cerny said.
This bodes well for fans of the genre, including me, as I already have Killzone: Shadow Fall, Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty: Ghosts on preorder.
Obviously, that’s just too many shooters for one person, but whatever.
