EA Says Its Crafting A Used Games Policy That Puts The Gamer First

The backlash of DRM is being felt all around, and in the wake of Sony’s excellent press conference, EA, one of the biggest games publisher in the business, is starting to use soft and inviting language to sway positive consumer sentiment in their favor.

According to EA labels president Frank Gibeau, they’re now looking at the used games issue from a gamer standpoint.

“EA has a position of looking at used games from a user standpoint and a gamer standpoint. We will definitely be looking at gamer-first and creating an opportunity to have a relationship with used games such that it’s a positive experience,” Gibeau said in an investors call.

So there’s yet hope, then. Hope that EA is more than just talk, and hope that other publishers will follow suit. Last I heard Activision wasn’t even considering changing its current policy, which is no restrictions whatsoever, however we hear other publishers are looking for reasonable positions before they come out and say anything.

Hey EA! I have a well crafted idea with gamers in mind….leave shit alone. Let it be like it was in the cartridge days. I’m sorry you need more money to pay your CEO’s multi million dollar salaries for doing, what to me is the same as, very little compared to those you are making money off of.
