The Last of Us will be available on the PSN Store the very day it’s released at retail, but that’s not the news here. The real, pleasant surprise is that Sony’s worked a little magic making the game playable once its download to your hard drive hits 50%. How about that?
But what’s a luxury now (The Last of Us is the only game to utilize this feature on PS3), will become par for the course on PS4, as Sony’s said all games will be almost instantly playable once download begins. Also, it seems as if Sony’s commenced the implementation of its Gaikai technology into PSN, and are testing it out with The Last of Us. How else would they be able to pull this off?
Either ways this is good news for those planning to purchase the game digitally.
Thanks, GameInformer.
