One New PS3 Comes Without A Hard Drive

Sony announced a new, smaller PS3 today today in Japan, coming in two colors black and white, and two hard drive sizes, 500GB and 250GB. What the firm didn’t make mention of, however, is that there’s a new PS3 slim that comes without a hard drive, equivalent of the Xbox 360′s 4GB version.

Available only in Europe, Hong Kong and Australasia, and replacing the 250GB model available elsewhere, this particular PS3 will instead pack 12GB of flash memory.

The HDD-less PS3 will be released on September 27th in Australia and October 12 in Europe, costing gamers €229 / AUD$300.

Also, those who choose to purchase the 12GB version can upgrade it with an HDD later, only trade off is the 12 GB will no longer be available for internal storage.

    not really worth it here.
    its 100 bucks cheaper, but if you get the 500GB model EB will give you fifa 13 and borderlands 2.
    but if you buy the 12GB model, thus saving 100 bucks, you only get 1 of them.
    so its not really worth saving the 100 bucks in the first place even if you dont want one of the 2 your better off spending the 100 more, than selling the game or trading it in.
    i know its flash memory and its allot more expensive than HDDs, but 300 bucks for 12GBs is RIDICULOUS!
    my alienware M18X came with a 500GB SSD kingston hyper X THE fastest best SSD out there, and it only cost me 280!
    as the saying goes, giveth with one hand and taketh away with the other.

    @nick where are you hearing this stuff about the trade ins and the extra games that come with this system at game stop cause i looked and found no deals like this can u post a link for this deal.
