Diablo III Goes Offline For “Urgent Maintenance” As Patch 1.0.2 Continues To Give Trouble

Blizzard has admitted that there’s an issue with Diablo III’s servers in the wake of the first client patch which went live today.

The issue has been mentioned by Blizzard’s customer service Twitter account, and also on the forums.

“We’re aware of issues affecting our authentication servers which may cause players to experience failed or slowed logins (e.g. getting stuck at ‘Retrieving Character List’). We’re currently investigating the cause of these issues and have brought all Diablo III game servers offline for maintenance.”

It’s unclear whether the issue is related to today’s release of the very first full patch for the game.

The latest patch nerfs the overpowered Monk Class, and includes several other fixes.

    blizzard, seriously, what the ^%$# have you been doing these past 12 freaking years!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    seriously, diablo 3 does not play like a game thats been polished to a fine tooth!
    its more like a game that has been rushed!
    god, its like this after 12 years id hate to see what it was like 6 years ago!

    It’s a big game, with loads of content, and millions more playing it… It’s tough stuff, I’m sure. If they could magically make all the issues go away I’m sure they would. I’m sure they’re not over at Blizzard thinking, “man, let’s mess this up!”

    there certainly making it look like it!
    sorry, but the state the game is in is unacceptable for a game that has been in development for 3 years!
    let alone 4!
    let alone 5!
    let alone 6!
    let alone 7!
    let alone 8!
    let alone 9!
    let alone 10!
    let alone 11!
    let alone 12!
    this is not news to blizzard, they have had these problems with every game they have released!
    when you make a mistake once ok its understandable.
    but making it every single time you release a new game?
    come on!
