Australian Retailer Lists Wii U For $600

Planning on being a Wii U early adapter? Start saving up on cash immediately…especially if you live in Australia.

Apparently the console will cost $600 down under, about the same amount the PS3 cost at its launch. Now, remember, Australia sells everything expensive, just ask Nick, so don’t become weary.

Here’s a screenshot

Again, this is only Australia, and most of these early dates are usually placeholders, so stay calm. However since we’re on the topic of pricing, how much are you willing to put down for Nintendo’s upcoming Wii U?

pricing the console at more than £299 in the uk would be a really bad move in the current climate.

thats not too bad for launch, ps3 was over a thousand!
    360 was 500 if i remember right.
considering its got a tablet controller those things would cost a arm and 3 legs to make, so i think 600 is fair.
preferably 500, but it does come with allot of things hardware never has so 600 is justifiable.
however whats really weird is EB has had that price since E3.
i checked it last week and it still had the “price is estimated RRP” sign these things always have before a price is confirmed.
vita and 3DS had the same.
last week it was there, now its gone.
so either EB has had confirmation from someone, or its just a mistake.
i hope it is though, i think its justifiable but i can see allot of others saying otherwise.
people pay 500 bucks for the cheapest ipad, so at 600 if anything its a bargain!

    gimmicks aren’t worth $600 bucks

@Ghost: Haha! Comment of the week!

  • Ghost250

    LOL

the tablets not a gimmick, it opens up so many new avenues!
freeing up the HUD, not having to pause the game for weapon wheels, freeing up the TV, portable gaming………
gotta love it how every time something new comes out, its instantly slammed a gimmick!
    touch screen……gimmick!
    motion controls……gimmick!
    3D……. gimmick!
they may not fit to everthing, but they certainly do have their places!

  • Ghost250

yes it opens SOOOO…. many avenues cause it’s so hard to pause a game, to choose weapons, or look at a map. or freeing up the T.V. cause all of us know there’s so much content on television nowadays i sure can’t wait for that new jersey shore episode. excuse my sarcasm…..

dude, you are so closed minded its not funny!

  • Ghost250

i’m not close minded im a traditional gamer, i dont care for tablets controls or motion controls etc. all care is give me a regular controller so i can play my games crap like this doesn’t impress me. sorry i don’t share your enthusiasm
