These have been the MAJOR problem with the COD series as a whole. I’d like to see how they plan on fixing a P2P hosting game because I would really like to enjoy playing it again. Yeah, and the Melee Jump needed to be eliminated all together.

The host issue is my biggest gripe. Hate to be in a game and suddenly it stops…search for new host….Hate that.

Other than that, to be honest, I usually have a great time playing MW3.

  • rpatricky

You won’t get a reply from them when you ask how they are going to deal with a host that shuts down or unplugs during a match so their Host Migration Logic improvement may be a step in the right direction but not for this issue.

Only dedicated servers will fix this issue. I don’t see dedicated servers coming to COD anytime soon, sadly.

  • rpatricky

My point exactly. Could you imagine the amount of money they would rake in if they went with dedicated servers? I am sure that it would more than pay for all the servers and then some. Their next venture will sell just as well without…damn shame….but I have hopes for the future of the series.

I do have high hopes for the future of Call of Duty, it’s Activision’s main bread winner, and I think they’ve done a great job with it. I mean, criticism aside, all the games have been great quality, and with the next round of consoles incoming, and surely a new Call of Duty engine – maybe even better than Frosbite 2, and with Sledgehammer on board, I see great things for the future of the IP…. I have hopes.

  • rpatricky

I do too. The current one just doesn’t do it for me. It is a lazy update to MW2 and it saddens me to have something, that I have enjoyed for many days and days, turn into the mundane.

Well you’re an honest fan. I still do enjoy it, and I also sympathize with Infinity Ward… the mere fact they were able to bring out a game during this turmoil, even with the help of Sledgehammer, speaks volumes to their ability. It’s one of the reasons I scored the game 10/10… Not necessarily because it is (no game is perfect), but Infnity Ward managed to bring out a solid, solid game in the midst of disaster. I respect that.

  • rpatricky

Yeah. It was solid because they just tweaked an already created game. Ah. The sympathy vote. Shame on you! ha!

    :D

There was a bit of sympathy in there, I must admit….. I mean, come on, the guys labored through all sorts of ridicule to get a game out, and did a great job at it. I mean, say what you will about tweaking the multiplayer, but the single-player campaign was absolutely the best. Amazing stuff.
