18 Million Pieces Of Black Ops DLC Sold

Want to know why Call of Duty is the strongest piece of entertainment of all time? Because it’s able to sell 18 million pieces of downloadable content, more DLC than most big games sell hard copies. Simply stunning.

Activision Blizzard reported today that they hauled in an amazing 1.7 billion USD during the 12 month period ending in June 2011, representing a 22 percent increase over the year before according to Gamasutra.

As for Black Ops, the publisher announced that it sold 18 million pieces at $15 per pack, and said Black Ops players are paying $76 per purchase (game with DLC).

so with that 1.7B you would think that they would create new studios, new engines, new IPs, bring the quality of there games up right?
of course not, antivision dont give a shit about the quality of their games all they give a shit about is their back pocket!
instead of milking every series till it dies, how about bringing some new IPs and maybe a new innovative genre?

I’m sure they’re crafting a new engine. Those things take time.
