Almost Everyone Can Download inFamous 2 For Free On PSN, Courtesy Welcome Back Package (Update)

Update: Folks are reporting that the free game thing is a glitch, which I don’t understand because if you’re a member of PS Plus, you should get the game for free, at least the trial.

Original Story: It’s one of the highest rated PS3 games out this year, and now, if you purchased your PS3 and created a PSN account before the service was hacked back in April, inFamous 2, the full game, could be yours for free for a limited time.

It’s part of your Welcome Back Pack. How, you ask? Simple: Sony gave all PSN members who were affected by the breach a full 30 days of PS Plus for free, and there are yet a few days left before it expires. So if you haven’t taken advantage of PS Plus, do so now and download inFamous 2 asap.

Otherwise, it’s on the store for $59.99. Just go to the PlayStation Store, click on New Releases, and there you’ll see Cole waiting to electrify your PS3.

But you knew all this didn’t you? Of course you did.

This can’t be right. I just checked and the only free thing is the infamous 2 free trial. So are you sure?

  • linglingjr

Infamous one is free for welcome back

  • Joshua Tompkins

i was checking this out and other people have reported that infamous 2 was free, but now it isn’t. i think it was a glitch in the system.

Oh. Okay. But isn’t the free Trial of inFamous 2 a PS Plus thing? If so, all PS Plus members should be able to get the free trial.

  • ttbounty

Joshua is right, I only saw a free demo and another 60min trial.

Is the 60min gameplay the full game?

@ ttbounty – it’s supposed to be the full game, and you play until said 60 minutes are up.

  • Joshua Tompkins

the trial is available to everyone, but in australia and a couple of other places people where reporting that the full game was free and not just the free trial, but it is no longer like that now.
