It’s almost over, and by tomorrow the news will slow a bit, but even before we say goodbye to E3 2011, next year’s event has been given a date, and it remains in the same location.

According to the ESA, 46,800 people came to the Los Angeles Convention Center for E3 2011, and that 200 exhibitors had content on display, with more than 120 retail companies from 18 countries participating in E3′s VIP Retailer program. All-in-all, international participation in E3 grew “with representatives coming from 106 countries-up from 90 in 2010.”

“This year’s event propelled video games to the pinnacle of the entertainment world,” said ESA president and CEO Michael Gallaghe. “The industry’s innovation, creativity, and excitement combined to show the world the ultimate entertainment experience.

The positive news generated by the event reached all parts of the world, and we are looking forward to building on this great momentum in 2012.”

ESA also noted that E3 2011 generated $25 million to the city of Los Angeles. Next year’s even happens on June 5th-7th.
