There’s a Tomb Raider reboot underway at Crystal Dynamics, and while some hardcore fans may be raging against the decision, the developer’s said it feels like a reboot of the game was “necessary”, and that they’l leave “no stones unturned” in their effort to make it a great one.
That’s what studio boss Darrell Gallagher told Edge recently.
“A reboot for us felt like the necessary thing to do. Lara had hit her apex in how she was before, and we didn’t really feel we could take that any farther. It was a chance to look at everything again, bring new people in who had been interested in the franchise before but didn’t feel like Lara was modern enough.
We left no stones unturned as we were going through the concept, and then kept the right stones. The crucial thing is that it feels like her, even though it’s completely different.”
Lots of details on it here, and while no date has been announced, expect it to come on PS3 and Xbox 360.

they definitely did the right thing.
lara has not exactly had a fantastic track record this gen, so they needed to wipe the slate clean and start again.
a reboot is exactly what she needs!
I agree they did the right thing…I needed a fresh reboot. She needs fresh clothing.
