Nintendo recently held an event in Japan known as Nintendo World, with most of the news being 3DS-centric. The launch lineup was divulged, new videos, and some screens of what might be 2011′s biggest industry mover were announced.

Get the full quencher past the break.

3DS’s Japan Launch Lineup:

The handheld will launch with eight titles in Japan according to Famitsu (thanks, Kotaku), with ¥4,800 as the cheapest to ¥6,090 as the most expensive.

They are:

-Nintendogs + Cats (¥4,800)

-Winning Eleven Soccer 3D (¥5,800)

-Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition (¥4,800)

Shorter than what was previously expected, but good enough.

First Party Release Lineup:

With Nintendogs + Cats announced as a launch title, Nintendo’s gone on to introduce some other games from its first party times, including timelines.

We can expect Steel Diver, Pilotwings Resort and the 3DS version of Zelda: Ocarina of Time are down for spring. Star Fox 64 3D and Kid Icarus: Uprising are all pinned down for summer.

Mario Kart 3DS, Animal Crossing 3DS and Paper Mario 3DS are yet To be announced.

The Quencher Continues: 3DS Battery Life Made Known, Lasts 3-8hrs, Takes 3.5 Hours To Charge

Via Nintendo’s official Site, a full spec list of the 3DS was divulged, included therein was the handheld’s battery life and recharging time.

It’s battery will last anywhere from 3-8hrs (a wide margin, we know), and takes up to 3.5hrs to charge. Thanks, Kotaku. The battery life varies, according to Nintendo, depending on the system’s backlighting. If it’s turned on, then expect the battery to last much less than if it were off.

im not sure if ninty are really going in the right direction with this.
they need a new console, not a new handheld the DS was and still is selling like hotcakes!
cant say the same for the wii!
only competitors the 3DS has is really the PSP and, well the DS gets 10 times more games than that, and normally better ones so theres really no need to update that.
the wii on the other hand has the ps3 and 360 to compete with and games wise, well theres no comparison both are kicking the royal %$#@ out of it!
ninty should be thinking about bringing a wii 2 out, not a 3D handheld which makes you blow chunks after 5 minutes of use.

    i hope so!
there in serious trouble though, a few guys are working on a wii emulator for the ps3.
o, and another team is working on a PSP emulator for the ps3.
so in other words the only games ps3 cant play are 360, xbox and PC games!
all hail to the power of homebrew!!!!!

only in america can you sue someone for something legal!
