Developer Raven Working On Call of Duty Project

Another day, another Call of Duty rumor. It would seem Activision’s trying hard to make sure the next Call of Duty title, which we believe to be another Modern Warfare piece, delivers. Because if it doesn’t, Houston, we have a problem.

From the onset, Activision joggled development of the popular franchise between Infinity Ward and Treyarch, but now that Infinity Ward’s in shambles, the publisher’s scrambling to find the right mix. Raven, the developer owned by Activision, and is said to be developing Black Ops DLC, might just handle the next Modern Warfare.

It’s the same developer who made Singularity, has a job listing dug up by MCV explaining how it’s “seeking a lead visual effects artist to drive the development of stunning visual effects for an established console-based, realistic, first-person military shooter.”

It makes sense doesn’t it? Let’s wait to hear how this unfolds. After all, there’s not much time remaining if Activision plans on releasing Modern Warfare 3 or whatever, this year.

I heard Singularity was pretty fun, but of course, Activision did not support it or really push it, and it fell to the wayside. I am going to rent it soon. The reviews were mediocre for it, but my friends say it is fun, and I trust them more. lol

Yep, I always trust them more, I should give it a shot myself.

i enjoyed singularity, by far one of the best military shooters to date!
had a really good storyline too, one thing that really enhanced it was its set in real life events.
for some reason the time manipulation techniques did not feel cheap, cheating or tacked on like they normally do they actually felt natural, really well fleshed out like they were made for the game.
for a UE3 game its got bloody good graphics too!
im so disappointed raven software are owned by antivision, there such a young studio and there showing really strong potential!
so sad to see a development studio held back because of a greedy malevolent publisher.
i wish antivision would leave them be and let them make what they want, instead of shoe horning them into making COD games and see the studios potential crumble beneath them!

I guess they never should have sold to the monster publisher in the first place.

they had no choice, it was either work for the devil or go bankrupt!
its so disappointing to see such talent go to waste!
    its like M$ and RARE.
one of the industries BEST developers, and what does M$ have them do?
create stupid crappy kids games for kinect!
thats like hiring Ferrari to create a hot wheels car!

Yeah, how I long for a RARE-made Donkey Kong or better yet………..Killer Instinct.

  • nick

    one can dream!
i just can not believe M$ has purchased one of the worlds best developers just for kids games!
    what a waste of talent!
