Resistance 3′s Already Complete

by Ernice Gilbert on December 12th, 2010, under Hot, Insomniac Games, News, Sony

So from now until September 6th, 2011, Insomniac Games will be polishing the game.

Should be the best Resistance yet. In fact, as of now, the shooter could be played from start to finish.

That’s according to the developer’s Community Manager James Stevenson, speaking on NeoGAF:

“I think… and we have to be careful about discussing exactly where we are in dev… but we totally have a lot of content done (2 years of dev so far) w/ a lot of polishing to go,” he said.

Adding: “The game is playable start to finish on disc, which is pretty insane for an Insomniac game w/ this much time left.”

As for PS Move and 3D support, those options are yet to be decided, Stevenson said. He did mention the game’s multiplayer component over at the US PS Blog, however, saying that it’s new and improved.

“It’s new, improved,” he assured. “It’s a more focused experience, progression-based, and takes place in maps located around the world.”

I am fine waiting for them to polish it up, and just to get it away from all these other releases. I am super happy about all of the games coming out, but i think sony needs to rethink the release plan for all of these games. They are going to run some of these games sales thin. I would not mind waiting on a few of these games until early 2012. I will some how find a way to get all of these games, but it will be hard, and I feel sorry for the games that might not do as good because of all the releases. I can’t wait though.

That’s a good point you’re making there bro. I think the same thing myself. Sony should seriously delay some titles into 2012.

Meh? Dude, tell me you’re playing around… Next year’s way to awesome. Also, if Sony’s lineup’s “meh” to you, I wonder what’s Microsoft’s….

  6. Mon, 13th Dec 2010 at 7:36 am

Yep indeed. More games for us all. You think you’ll be able to buy them all? Nada.

  7. Mon, 13th Dec 2010 at 8:56 am

the only things that are meh to me is yakuza 4, ratchet & clank all 4 one, & littlebiplanet2. those are the only games i dont want to play from sony, everything else is awesome. as for microsoft i just want gears 3, forza 4 i could care less about. and yes i will definitely be able to buy them all. i already have killzone 3 collector’s edtion on pre-order right now. as for the others not at the moment, but i usually like to wait and see if certain games have collector’s edition coming out for them. i figure if im going to spend money on a game, i might as well go all out buy the best version. the only collector’s editions i never got was GTA IV & Tekken 6

“i figure if im going to spend money on a game, i might as well go all out buy the best version.”

    An attitude I should adopt.

I’m not hyped about Yakuza, never was. But Ratchet and Clank and surly LITTLEBIGPLANET 2!

@Ernice Gilbert, yea alot of people like ratchet & clank, me personally i liked spyro better. thats just my preference. i mean i don’t even like jak & daxter, do you know how many people are literally gonna flame me now after saying that (ALOT). like the ps2 mascots i didn’t like at all the ps1 mascots were better IMO. as for littlebigplanet, ill take mario any day

I can’t wait for ratchet and clank, and lbp 2. R&C is one of my favorite series.

  11. Mon, 13th Dec 2010 at 1:20 pm

I like Jak & Daxter, but I am not disappointed each year that they do not announce one. I am a much bigger fan of R&C. Those games take me back to last gen where every game made was not trying to be to serious or realistic. That is what I am missing in games today. Where are the really creative, fun games that try to be funny, and cartoony. I loved those games, and they brought a lot of variety to gaming. I think that is why I like lbp so much.

@Joshua Tompkin’s, i can understand why people like Ratchet & Clank and Jak & Daxtar but for me i like all the old school playstation characters like crash bandicoot and spyro the dragon, they just really take me back to when the ps1 first came out. i really wish one of these days sony will buy back the franchises and have their respected developers, go back and do another game for each.

  13. Mon, 13th Dec 2010 at 4:29 pm

I totally agree. I miss a good crash or spyro game. I remember playing them all day, and I miss them. The game industry is missing that fun side that crash, and spyro brought.

  14. Mon, 13th Dec 2010 at 5:29 pm

Yep, both you guys are correct. But will we ever see a true, bona fide remake of those titles with them being in the hands of Acti? Nope.

Buying back Crash would be the only way… But I doubt Activision would sell.

  15. Mon, 13th Dec 2010 at 6:27 pm

@Ernice Gilbert, i think activision would sell if sony asked, i mean the new crash games haven’t sold too well these, figure activision would sell since that would be a better option for them, they would be making their money back after all the lost money on crash titles

  16. Mon, 13th Dec 2010 at 6:46 pm

I hope they do sell them. I wish they never acquired them in the first place. We will se though. I just hate how companies are trying to change these old games to keep them fresh, but there was a reason they sold so much better back then. it was because they were great. Do not fix what is not broken. I want the old crash and spyro back. I like R&C because they are like the old games, but just unbelievably polished. They just need to take the old formula and build off of it. Do not just throw it out the window and do something totally different. Look at the new Donkey Kong Country. Nintendo took what was great and built on it, and it is a good game. This is what needs to happen to some of the older franchises. It has been so long since they had a good one with the old style gameplay that I believe it will sell good if they stick to the winning formula.

Yep, all great points, men. We shall see.
