by Ernice Gilbert on November 18th, 2010, under Activision/Bilzzard, Hot, News, Treyarch

Treyarch’s made known that it’s updated Black Ops for PS3 and Xbox 360, bringing minor changes to the game’s multiplayer.

Both platforms updates are basically the same, with the only major difference between the two being an optimization with the PS3 version that prevents spamming by other users. According to Treyarch, this “will improve game performance for users with large numbers of friends”.

The full update for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are yours for the viewing through the respective links.

The essentials are listed below:

Fixes in progress for both versions include:

- Prevention of Valkyrie rocket exploding upon release under rare conditions
- Prevention of Gunship failing to give player full control under rare conditions
- Prevention of a rare issue where a player will get teleported outside the map boundaries under very specific circumstances

Fixes in progress for PC include:

- GPU hitching on certain graphics cards.
- Incomplete server browser results.
- Improvements to Quickmatch joins (results with better ping and reduced lag).
- Zombies “The game session is no longer available” error.

they seriously need to optimize there code, no freaking way this should be taxing a I7 920 overclocked to 3.8GHz to 100% every second im playing the dam thing!
god, imagine what it would be like playing it in 3D!
you would need a NASA supercomputer!

I7 is intels new CPUs, 920 is the series just like video cards, or cars have certain series as in BMW 3 series, 5 series, 1 series ect.
overclocked means your pumping more electricity in there than the manufactures made it for so you have to be extremely careful you dont pump too much in otherwise it will overheat and can melt.
3.8GHz is the clock cycle, how many cycles it can complete per second im sure you know GHz G is for giga as in thousand, HZ as in hertz measurement of frequency.
games these days on a PC like mine should only tax up the CPU on average 60%, COD BO is closer to the 90s!
my video cards are overheating too because there constantly under full load when they should not be.
BOs code is seriously unoptimized, what that means is the code is unefficient.
with programming there are a million and one ways you can do a specific task, optimizing means to do the task in the least amount of code possible.
thats how you can tell whos a decent programmer and whos a master programmer, novices will have 10 lines of code to do a simple task and a master programmer will do the exact same task with 1 line of code.
the less code you have the less time it takes to compile the code, and do what it needs to do.
there for it needs to occupy hardware less often, for a shorter amount of time that is why its so important to write as little code as possible.
