MS has been boasting Kinect with lofty words recently, claiming the motion control device will revolutionize the way games are played, even saying it’ll beat iPad sales.
The latest boast comes from Microsoft’s Game Studios’ corporate vice president Phil Spencer, claiming Kinect will be “the biggest platform launch in the history of the industry”.
“This is, for us, the biggest platform launch in the history of the industry,” he said. “We want to sell more units than any console has ever sold in its first holiday, a new platform.
Our retail partners are telling us, based on the consumer demand ‘this is going to be the number one consumer electronics purchase this holiday’. Not just in the games space, all of them.”
Adding: “So this, for us, is bigger than Xbox launch, bigger than 360 launch – this is a big deal for us. How many units are we going to sell? We’re completely goaled in investing as if this were the biggest console launch ever, and that’s our expectation.”
There you have it, folks, Kinect will be the biggest thing planet earth has ever seen. Brace thyself oh gamer, brace thyself.
Thanks, MVC.

of course kids and ladies love Kinect!
Mighty be true, but I doubt Kinect will be the biggest launch this industry has ever seen…..
MAYBE U NEVER KNOw?
I guess you’re right, bro. Never say never!
yeah in terms of most paid celebrities at the launch event. lol
LOL…..you’re harsh
It just bothers me that at E3 the public was not aloud to see the Milo area. You had to be invited and most of the people in there were celebrities. I mean, not even Game Informer or IGN got to go in.
Yeah, I know. It’s because the stuff wasn’t really working, yet. Microsoft is also making a big push outside of the industry so-to-speak…..They’re really hoping to ‘win’ with Kinect in a big way.
That is what pisses me off. Is that they brag on this awesome thing and then only let celebrities see it and not the game industry. Then they get the celebrities to say it is awesome and unbelievable, and kids then want it, but the product is not that good. This is why I am being so harsh, is that parents are spending there hard earned cash on a rushed product that is not finished yet, and MS does not even care.
Yes, I agree. The giant has always been about its pocket first to be quite honest, and unless something really bad happens, nothing will change, unfortunately.
