Respawn Entertainment Hiring For Multiplatform Title

by Ernice Gilbert on September 25th, 2010, under EA Partners, Hot, News, Respawn Entertainment

Since EA Partners signed former Infinity Ward bosses Jason West and Vince Zampella, nothing has been said concerning any game that might be under development at the newly formed studio, Respawn Entertainment.

No door stays closed forever, however, especially in the gaming industry; leaks happen on a constant basis here, and according to two job postings, we now know what Respawn Entertainment are up to.

The firm’s hiring for a multiplatform game in development, and they’re looking for an art and audio lead.

“Respawn intends to develop a multi-platform product that works on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Its product will be based on new video game IP and will be funded through its publishing deal with Electronic Arts, one of the top publishers in the industry,” part of listing reads.

No details on what genre or anything else for that matter was released, but at least we know some of the brightest minds in the industry are not just sitting around idle.

This is really good news.

Thanks, IGN.

interested to see what these guys come up with, i just hope its not another war shooter we have way too many of those!
i can see these guys doing a open world car combat game, kinda like full auto battlelines but open world instead of a confined track.

Yeah, but I’m almost sure it’s another shooter. They’re named Respawn Entertainment for crying out loud.

respawn could be anything, does not mean a shooter.
plus i think the name respawn is a cheap shot at their old publisher more than anything else, kinda like a pheonix being reborn from the ashes.
hey, that should be their emblem!

i think EA will give them the freedom of choice. If you know Jason West and Vince Zampella well, it will almost defintely invovle shooting. however it will be unlike any other shooter. First they made Medal of Honor AA, then because they didnt like EA’s way of milking they made IW and teamed up with Activision, however they wasnt any better and they had a hard time getting activision on Modern Warfare. they succeded though and now Acti milk the shit out of CoD. sooo they said well f.u bobby and made Respawn Entertainment and are together with EA again

@Nick: LOL, yeah, it does sounds like they wanted to send a message with that name. Still, if that’s the case, it work both ways: a win-win
