EA Servers for Battlefield 3 Open Beta Down in United States

On September 29th, 2011 The open multiplayer beta for Battlefield 3 released for Xbox360, PS3, and PC. Unfortunately EA did not see their beta being the most downloaded since the Gears of War 3 Beta. Due to excessive downloading, EA has shut the servers down in the United States for a short period of time to add more servers to facilitate capacity.

Servers in other countries have been effected as well. Places like The United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Italy, Spain, France, and some places in China, Battlefield fans have to wait at least a few hours until the servers are back up and running. Don’t be discouraged, the Battlefield 3 open beta still looks graphically stunning and with the solid gameplay, I’m sure you hardcore fans can stand at least a few more measly hours to play the beta you’ve all been waiting for!

why is it when a game always launches the servers crash?
i mean seriously, do developers underestimate how many people are going to be playing it?
how can you, i mean seriously the only thing people have been talking about ever since september started was when is the BF3 beta releasing!

Is it back up yet? I checked pretty early this morning and it was still a no-go. Went down sometime between 5 and 9PM last night (Eastern time…)
