Yesterday at Gamescom, Bioware shocked the gaming world with its reveal that the much lauded title, Mass Effect 2, will see a January 2011 release on PS3. But does that mean future ME titles will be available on said console?
BioWare boss Ray Muzyka said that’d be a “good guess”.
He said this while speaking to VG247 in a recent interview:
“That’d be a good guess, he told the site, “but we haven’t announced any details on any future formats or anything, or even formally announced Mass Effect 3 yet, although there’s a natural assumption that there will be a Mass Effect 3 as it’s a trilogy. We’ve said that and more or less confirmed it, but we haven’t announced any details on the product yet, or the platforms.
EA is a company that wants to support different platforms, reach different audiences; we’re part of EA and we want to make sure we can embrace that as well. I think we’re trying to do that with all of our products, whether it’s Dragon Age or Mass Effect.”
This pretty much confirms that all Bioware’s future products will be multiplat. Which, by all means, is good news for all gamers.
There’s much more through the link up top. Check it out.

It’s pretty much a sure thing, especially given the tight relationship that EA and Sony have as of late.
its going to be interesting to see how ME3 plays out on the ps3 since they dont have the original.
id love to see bioware work on a new IP, a game like alpha protocol.
that was the perfect example of a brilliant idea let down by the dev team.
bioware know how to make fantastic RPGs, so there take on a game like alpha protocol would be epic!
True, I doubt it’ll happen anytime soon, though. These guys are tied up with ME and Dragon’s Age
Yeah, EA and Sony seems are acting like family, lately. That’s really good to see.
not to mention the star wars RPG there working on.
they would be the perfect studio for it, but it will never happen because bioware are working on so many other titles.
would be sweet though!
sega have apparently canceled production on the alpha protocol sequel which is disappointing!
Yeah, because they rushed through the thing. Remember this:
http://www.gamesthirst.com/2010/05/29/alpha-protocol-dev-loses-it-says-game-should-have-been-cancelled/
Yeah.
it was not rushed, what screwed up alpha protocol was sega and the producer.
sega kept changing the requirements of the game so the devs would implement something than sega would want it changed so they would change it than sega would want that changed rinse and repeat.
so the whole dev time was spent putting things in hence nothing got polished!
that, and apparently the producer had his head up his ass!
he thought he was the best thing since sliced bread, he would not listen to others opinions and that destroyed the game!
i honestly believe done well it could be the best game of the generation!
its potential is through the roof!
i really wish bioware or a AAA dev team with strong RPG experience picked up the AP license, or created a game just like it!
imagine blizzard working on a game like that!
ooooooooooo. ah great, now look what ive done!
That dev was just sharing his thoughts…angry as they were…
yea he was pissed and i cant blame him!
