Bioware “Unable” to Fix Mass Effect 2 Small Text Issue

If you’ve been playing Mass Effect 2 on standard definition, you’re probably having a hard time reading the small text. Well if you’re hoping for Bioware to fix the problem with a patch, forget it because they won’t, they can’t.

“We understand that on some (SDTVs) the smallest text in Mass Effect 2 can be difficult to read. While this was not an intentional result, it was a byproduct of the enhancements to the user interface,” Michael Gamble, the game’s product manager said on the official forums.

“After investigating potential solutions, we have determined that while this issue does affect a small portion of SDTV owners, we are unable to resolve it for Mass Effect 2 through a title update.”

Apparently, Mass Effect 3 won’t suffer the same problem as Gamble said the situation will be looked into with the next title.

It’s not just a Mass Effect 2 problem. I know on the PSN, I think it was the poker game…the free one, not sure of the name, but it’s extremely difficult to make out the names/symbols on the cards!

Agreed Coffee a lot of games text when played on standard defintion shrinks along with the pixel size and there has to be a way around it as it makes some games impossibly hard to read.

And boy do I love reading text, I watch every movie with caption – just love to read stuff.
