Because of a massive influx of European gamers on PSN who bought their new PS4s over the weekend, and also because of high Black Friday PSN sales volume, Sony has disabled certain features on the network, and included among them is one particular feature of incredible importance: the Redeem Code feature.
Disabling such a key feature of the PlayStation Network, a feature through which most items are purchased on PSN, is a huge disservice to gamers wanting to secure certain amazing Black Friday PSN deals, and even worse for those who purchased brand new PS4s and were hoping to redeem a couple of codes on day one — maybe to get on PS Plus, or maybe to buy some swag.

Login to your account and on the XMB go to account managment and redeem your code there. Should work like a dream. Don’t go to the PlayStation Store to redeem your code (s) until Sony reopens the functionality.
