Crysis 3′s part of the conference focused on Hunters Mode

Crysis 3 did not show anything too interesting or new, apart from a trailer where we got glimpses on new enemy types and a look at the environment. It mostly focused on the Hunters Mode, which is not bad, though.

Crysis’ take on the popular Infected Mode, a team starts with 2 cloaked Hunters with bows, hunting 14 CELL troopers – all human players. There’s a timer, extended each time you kill a CELL, who is converted to a Hunter. The goal is obvious, nothing new; but what’s exciting is how it plays, in the Crysis universe.

It should be noted that Hunters Mode was showcased on the Xbox 360, meaning the very limiting player cap (12 for consoles, 16 for PC) has been increased to match that of the PC. That will make multiplayer battles even more frantic, but most importantly, more lively, which was something that worried me whenever I was playing Crysis 2 on my PS3, even with full teams.

Luckily, we won’t have to wait long until we see what Crytek has achieved with it. February is right around the corner. Almost.
