Mortal Kombat Taking A Break, NR Working On Something Else

Netherrealms boss and Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon confirmed at the Video Game Awards that they’re taking a break from Mortal Kombat to do work on something else.

The studio confirmed the news to Gamespot after Mortal Kombat won the best fighter award. Fans shouldn’t be disappointed though, because Boon said it’s almost certain they’ll revisit the franchise.

No more DLC will be released for Mortal Kombat.

that something else better be good net code.

Haha. You’re on a roll, man. What could it be?

  • Ghost250

i couldn’t think of anything else. Mortal Kombat has been their only IP. it really sucks all that support they were talking about putting towards MK and they only released four characters one of which isn’t even a MK character to begin with. where’s Cyborg Smoke or Motaro. Khameleon/Chameleon?

  • Ernice Gilbert

Cyborg Smoke is monster. I guess they’re saving stuff for the next installment…. But I’m curious as to what they’re doing now…Hopefully it’s something good. I heard Nick mention Killer Instinct the other day, but I doubt it.

been so many rumours going around the past few months that there doing a new killer instinct game.
