Snakes Have Lost Their Wings: Duke Nukem Reviews Not Strong

Guardian settled for a 2/5. Even after 14 years of death, Duke Nukem’s resurrection doesn’t seems like it’ll last long.

It goes on sale today in the U.K. and on Tuesday in the U.S. for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

The Guardian – 2/5

Videogamerzone.de (German) – 77/100

AusGamers – 5

PC Gamer – 8/10

“Alas, what many had hoped would be a glorious trip down memory lane, is a muddled affair that lacks spit and polish across the board. Hail to the king, baby? No. Sadly, it’s more akin to, ‘Fail to the king, baby.’ And I’m genuinely disappointed that I couldn’t love the game more. In a weird way, I hope that Duke Nukem Forever makes enough money for us to see another game in the franchise—one that doesn’t take 14 years to produce—so that we can have a Duke Nukem experience with gameplay that takes genre advances into account and not one that relies too heavily on us wearing old-school-gaming goggles to appreciate a game that is desperately outdated,” concluded AusGamers.

i will be VERY shocked if we ever see a new DN game!
it honestly feels like gearbox just started development when they announced it at PAX last year!
i mean my lord id hate to see what the game would of been like if it released last month like it was set to.
the graphics are so poor, i mean come on this looks like a early ps3 game!
bloody FEAR or RFOM look better then this!
not exactly much better on PC either.
allot of bugs too, and its seriously unforgiving!
the boss battles are so god dam hard!
took me like 30 minutes, 1000 deaths to defeat the 3rd boss.
so many times i got her down, then went in for the kill but got hit once by one of those octopus thingys and died.
thats the problem with it, 2 hits are enough to kill you!
    what the?
im playing it on medium, and you cant change the difficulty setting!
    what the %$#@?
you cant change the difficulty setting, and each boss battle takes forever to finish and if you get any boss down but then get killed by another enemy while going for the QTE thats it start all over a flaming gain!
tell ya what, its been over a decade since a game pissed me off this much!
its got fantastic humor, its got pieces in there that make you piss yourself laughing and absolutely love the game!
but sadly there drowned by pieces that are broken, unpolished and ridiculously hard!
i cant believe so many are giving it 8s and higher, to be honest this deserves no more then a 6 and thats being very generous!
seriously buggy, and graphics worse then a early ps3 game.
how the ^%$# does that deserve a 8+?
