Kinect’s Sold 10 Million Units Since Launch, Becomes Fastest Selling Electronic Device Of All Time

Thought Kinect couldn’t sell its way to Church, and that the thing would flop hard? Microsoft has one word for you. Get lost.

Redmond has just announced that it’s motion controller dubbed Kinect, has sold a disorienting 10 million units worldwide.

Kinect’s also sold a monstrous 10 million pieces of software since its November 2010 launch.

According to the Guinness World Records, the motion camera, in its first 60 days on sale, from November 4th, 2010 to January 3rd, 2011, sold on average 33,333 Kinect units per day, making it the fastest-selling consumer electronics.

“The sales figures here speak for themselves,” uttered gaming editor for Guinness World Records, Gaz Deaves.

“According to independent research, no other consumer electronics device sold faster within a 60-day time span, which is an incredible achievement considering the strength of the sector.”

Well done, Microsoft.

I don’t know if I’ll ever buy one, to be honest. And I don’t think I’ll buy a PS Move either – motion controllers are just not my thing.

Yeah. My 2 Wii consoles have been dispersed to family members.
I have better, more productive and less expensive, ways to tire out my arms… wink. HAHAHA!

if thats sold, i wonder how many have been given away with their number of promotions.
LG had a deal for a good 4 months if you bought one of their TVs thats over 2K you got a 360 & kinect bundle free.
then there was the same thing with any laptop over 2K, and any phone running windows 7 mobile.
there giving these things away like candy!
