Gears of War is best experienced on the Xbox 360 or PC, but if you’re a gamer on the go, and pending you can wait two years, the iPhone version of the game might just be your answer.
“I didn’t take it that seriously until we started making this game. Now I’m like, ‘Oh my goodness, this is literally going to be the best looking handheld game ever made’. It’s way beyond what a DS or PSP could do,” Epic/Chair Entertainment’s Donald Mustard told Eurogamerin a recent interview.
“I think it’s going to be an interesting future, especially if in two years we can really run Gears of War on an iPhone.
If not two years, then certainly five years,” technical director Germey Mustard added. “Well, it could be as soon as two years but within five years that will certainly be the case. It will at least be powerful enough to do that.”
He added: “What is that going to mean for gaming? Am I going to be able to be able to play Red Dead Redemption on it then press pause, put it down in front of my TV and plug in an HDMI cable and keep going?
There’s such a cool future there. It’s an interesting time to be a consumer right now and to be a developer.”
Sounds great to me. In the meantime, Gears of War 3 has been delayed until September of 2011. By then, it should be the biggest release of the year contends Microsoft.

iphone sucks
iphone rules!
little pricey, and gets really annoying all the personalization restrictions apple put on you but it does everything a phone should, and everything a portable gaming device should!
thats what the next PSP should be like, have a inbuilt HDMI port, let me plug it into my TV and play in full 18:9 aspect ratio, none of this 10 inch screen the PSP does!
i mean whats the point of plugging a PSP into your TV if your going to get more or less the same sized screen?
iPhone sucks and rules?
LOL, whatever floats your boat.
Haha. I don’t know man, I think the phone’s awesome!
